We conducted a "Stress Test" comparing three distinct AI philosophies for 2025:
The Generalist (ChatGPT): Infinite flexibility but high "context overhead."
The Automator (Copy.ai): Linear workflow building (Zapier for text).
The Vertical Agent (Vect): State-aware agents with permanent "Brand Memory."
The Core Thesis: Most teams underestimate the "Hidden Cost" of Generalist AI. Paying $20/month for ChatGPT is cheap, but the 15 hours spent on "Prompt Engineering" and context-resetting is expensive. We argue that the future isn't about better prompts—it's about Agents that maintain state (Brand Kernel, Strategy, Anti-Personas) so you don't have to acts as the "orchestrator" for every single task.
tl;dr Prompt/Context Engineering is not a "tax" as OP wants you to believe and pay them for.
I would counter most outfits like this are not accounting for how easy and open source agent with "memory" are going to be to create, there are already lots of frameworks and addons, the big providers will have something like this if they don't already. Outfits like this don't realize their prompt/context engineering + this one weird trick (stateful agents is the de jour), is not adding all that much value or has ample alternatives.
People are not going to see the context engineering as a time loss / cost center and something they should outsource, but rather as integral to their business and brand. Outsourcing a core aspect of your business is not something leaders do
