There was a parody published in 1964 by Dan Greenburg called "how to be a Jewish mother" and I feel much of this repeated the same essential tropes, except the american Jewish mother has to suffer so e.g. demands child opens bedroom windows to get fresh air, closes hers to not use up the limited supply.
The concept of "Tiger mum" was big 2 decades ago. Mainly aimed at the Chinese/Singaporean perhaps. "Crazy rich asians" was a dig at that, projected into money and success in America.
