Hilarious. Trump didn't agree to let Iran have control of the strait in a desperate attempt, they just can't find the mines, because if they could, the strait would have been open by now.
This is funnier than when Vance tried to dismiss Iran's Lebanon ceasefire condition by suggesting that Iranians can't understand English.
Nice to see USA get a taste of Trump's dealmaking skills after trying to tell Ukraine to concede more than they already lost for nothing in return.
Because, unlike the 1980's and the USS Roberts incident, no mines were actually planted. Duh. This is a PR FUD disinfo campaign to sell Ayatollabooth tickets to split proceeds with Drumpf. When lacking a capability* and the media environment is weak and gullible, the next best and cheaper thing to doing the actual thing when it is difficult/risky to verify is bluffing.
* While Iran's separate, official Navy was essentially destroyed mostly in port and uncrewed almost like a decoy army, the IRGC's smaller vessels could plant mines if they so chose but being caught doing so would be a PR loss and would create hazards for friendly vessels of all kinds. It's better to go to great lengths to bluff low information, neurotic people that mines "exist" to get them to submit to tolls and inspections; perhaps release several videos of various IRGC boats "laying mines" (to be demined shortly afterwards) in unverified locations to suggest that it happened.
The German army has the best capacities in the world for doing that job. They are rather unmotivated to help out right now tho.
Unfortunately, Trump chose to threaten his NATO allies with punishment for not helping him, especially Germany and Spain, by floating removing troops from their countries. Germany has spent a billion on taking good care of US Soldiers even if they regularly murder their citizens in cold blood. He should be more thankful.
I am glad he is not tired of winning yet, because he is going to need to win even harder to remove all those mines from the Strait with the US navy being mostly clueless about how to achieve their Kings goal.

> U.S. Says
Let me know when someone halfway trustworthy says it.

I believe everything the U.S. tells me because the U.S. government has never lied
