We should stop calling space based compute “data centers”. They’ll be compute constellations. A data center is a big warehouse with racks of servers in it + internet + power + cooling.
In space there will be all that without the warehouse, racks or servers.
To be clear compute nodes will be a cross between a server and a satellite. They’ll have solar power and thermal shedding and fast data connections. But each node will fly independently.
There is no data center. (Which is the source of so many blog posts named “space data centers are impossible “)
