In 2003, several friends and I started a game company to build a multiplayer mech shooter. The idea was innovative at the time. We developed a pretty cool demo, but we never finished the project. I've always wanted to finish it.
Fast forward to 2026, I decided to build the game using new technologies. After 23 years, the game is finally reborn.
Today, I am excited to release the first public version of Missile Massacre!
Pilot your mech, battle enemy bots, and fight up to three other players in fast-paced multiplayer. Launch missiles, dodge missiles, boost through the air, and use buildings as cover.
The game is designed to be easy to jump into:
No download
No login
Solo play with bots or real-time multiplayer
Create a room, share the link, and let the missiles fly
The game also features some less-than-serious maps and mechs, including a giant baby crib and a teddy bear mech.
Missile Massacre is also built for creativity. Create, share, and play your own maps and mechs with the community.
If you give it a try, I would love to hear your feedback. If you liked it, please share with a friend. If you hated it, please share with an enemy.
I'm attempting to play from my phone. The game says that's better to play from desktop but what can I do?
This is my experience:
The left button is a kind of joystick that seems to move the mech, but not in a predictable way. The right button also seems to move the mech and it flies it too, and it shoots a ton of missiles too. Are they infinite?
The boost is? I don't know.
There are green mechs around. If I ever hit them I didn't notice. Maybe they have a shield on, but it would be nice to see when a missile hits, even if it makes no damages.
Anyway the frustating part is that I don't know how to move, or: I move but I don't know why.
Thanks for trying it on mobile. This is really helpful feedback!
I agree, the mobile experience is not great right now. The game was originally designed for desktop. I’ll rework the mobile controls.
The left stick controls movement, the right stick aims and fires, and boost boosts you into the air. Missiles are indeed infinite. The green mechs have shields, so the first hit breaks the shield (blue explosion) and the second destroys the mech (orange explosion).
But I think the bigger issue is that the current mobile version is too stripped down. I may disable mobile for now and rework the controls rather than have it be someone’s first experience with the game.
