It looks really cool, but I can also see one potential downside of the "era of personalized software" emerging here.
Will we get a situation where everyone will rebuild the same functionality from scratch, but in a slightly different way? And if someone "just" wants to install the IDE with tooling for some standard usecase will the answer be "well, you have to prompt it first"?
This feels weirdly like web development, where you have 100 different JavaScript libraries to accomplish something that should really be in the standard.
Not sure if this is already the case here, but maybe an extension store would alleviate it. People could upload their extensions and you could refer to a particular configuration by its extension list.
And thanks to LLMs, it should be much easier to identify malicious extensions or group extensions by functionality.
Been using bb for the last few days. Definitely onto something here. Really cool being able to build out an ECAD plugin for a hardware project and have it be fully customisable. I wonder if this same premise could be applied to lightweight custom plugins for other fields like GTM.
