I've been spending a lot of time programming in Rust recently, alongside my usual Unity work, so I wanted to see if I could combine the two. This is the result of that experiment: a benchmarking study examining the benefits of using Rust from within the Unity game engine, including a comparison against Unity's high-performance SIMD engine, Burst. The entire project — building the benchmarks and analyzing the differences between the various runtimes — was completed over a single weekend.
