Retro so authentic it even recreated waiting for the film to develop: "Showing the last successful result. Your new settings have not been generated." is just the darkroom telling me to come back tomorrow.
This is great! I saw someone advertising a paid version on instagram with similar kind of effects and thought to myself, why are camera filters paid?
Anyways, interesting to see the trend towards "retro"-ifying pictures taken by Cameras to make them look more "real" maybe? It's almost like phone cameras getting too good has made pictures lose their character.
I don't think it's phone cameras getting too good: nowadays every picture comes with so many "computational photography" enhancements applied that they no longer look and feel like photos.
Noise, blur, soft edges, muted colours, limited dynamic range, unbalanced whites, all of these things are unavoidable, real phenomena of optical systems that we daily experience with our eyes, and removing them makes the images look like dreams or AI hallucinations instead of like instants of reality.
i can understand lightroom settings being paid, not the $100 pack that folks are selling, but at least there are a ton of pieces to that. just IG-style filters though are ridiculous.
